Killingworth Women's Organization - GFWC, Inc.

Our Mission:

The KWO is a local group of philanthropic women volunteers dedicated to helping others in our town and to maintaining a network of women to build a stronger sense of community for ourselves and others.

Since its formation in 2003, the KWO has organized and participated in events to further this mission, including organizing the town-wide toy and gift drive for needy children and senior citizens in December, organizing a town-wide Halloween event for children and their families, participating on the local Youth and Family Services Healthy Communities Healthy Kids Coalition, conducting fundraisers to contribute monetary donations to the Killingworth Library, Helping Hands and Haddam-Killingworth Youth and Family Services, as well as the KWO Scholarship for graduating female students, and organizing and delivering Welcome Baskets filled with useful information and items from local businesses and civic and governmental organizations to new residents to town.

The KWO is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.  To make a tax-deductible contribution to the KWO, please send a check payable to the KWO at Post Office Box 952, Killingworth, CT 06419.

Meetings and Membership:

The KWO meets on the second Wednesday of every month at 7:15 p.m. at the Killingworth Library.  Everyone is welcome to attend our meetings and membership is open to any woman 18 years or older.

In addition to serving as volunteers in our community, membership in the KWO means friendship.  We have regular scrapbooking nights at members' homes, movie nights, cooking nights at Quick Cuisine in Clinton and an annual dinner every May where we induct our new officers, acknowledge the outgoing officers and spend time enjoyng each other's company.

For more information on attending a meeting or joining the KWO, please contact our Vice President of Membership at membership@killingworthwomensorg.org.
